Page 1 of 6 Exim Arts, a locally incorporated company, specialising in arts and crafts, was set up in 1983 but was fully operational in 1991, retailing in handicrafts, home accessories, gifts and decorative items. In 1992, the company won the tender and licence to make life-size “Kucinta – Singapore’s Love Cat” organised by the STPB (Singapore Tourist Promotion Board) for use as its latest mascot from 1992 – 1997. These life-size cats made from polyresin and are being used as gifts to VIPs, visiting dignitaries and foreign embassies by the STPB. The cats are also enviously displayed in the museum in Kuching, Sarawak – cats being symbolic of the capital. Since 1991, the company has leap-frogged many folds with the establishment of four strategically located outlets in Singapore’s latest ‘shop, eat and have fun’ family malls and shopping complexes. The company imports, distributes and retail exquisite hand-made nature gifts, intricately crafted from ethnic origins, sourced throughout Asia and as far as from Europe and America. The company has created a niche in providing unique gifts backed by attentive friendly customers’ service. The company is still expanding and is always on the look out for synergy with established related business or opening of more new retail outlets. |
